VOLUNTEER LIABILITY AGREEMENT

Sign and submit this release with your Volunteer Application Form.

The Greater Rockford Airport Authority (GRAA) is grateful that you have agreed to volunteer for our 7th annual AirFest.  The AirFest 2011 Committee appreciates your contribution to this regional air show by providing all volunteers with one admission pass for each day of the event, allowing you to come back and enjoy the show on a day that you are not volunteering. You will also receive a parking pass, a volunteer t-shirt, and a meal for each four-hour shift worked.  We appreciate your time and thank you for your support – without our volunteers, AirFest 2011 would not be possible!

The Chicago Rockford International Airport and UPS will be in operation during the hours of the show.  Security and safety dictate care on the part of visitors, volunteers, and staff at all times on Airport property.  Precautions against the heat and sun of summer are a must.  We strongly recommend visitors and volunteers to wear light-colored, loose-fitting, lightweight clothes with comfortable, thick soled, close-toed walking shoes to protect against injury and heat.  Volunteers are advised to wear a hat, bandana or visor, use sun screen and drink lots of water.  A continuous loop of AirFest grounds will be made to provide cold water to volunteers.  If shade is not available and volunteers need to take a break, the Volunteer Tent is located near the ADA entrance.

We urge you to observe the same caution you would with summer tasks at home or on the job. You are responsible for your own actions.  At the same time, if you observe any hazards, we urge you to report problems to an AirFest Committee member or GRAA employee who will be wearing properly identified shirts throughout the weekend.

For good and valuable consideration, including participant (“Participant”) being permitted to participate in AirFest 2011 (Event), Participant, for myself, and my successors, heirs, assigns, executors, administrators, legal representatives, employees, agents and affiliates (and in the case of a corporation, also its officers, directors, and shareholders) (collectively referred to as “Participant”), forever release and discharge GRAA, the AirFest 2011 Committee, and each of its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates as well as Air Show, Inc. (collectively referred to as “AirFest”) from all claims, demands, losses, costs, expenses, suits, damages, obligations, liabilities causes of action and judgments whatsoever, in law or in equity, which against any of the foregoing, any or all of Participant ever had, now has or which they hereinafter can, shall or may have for, upon or by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever arising out of Participant's involvement in the Event.  Participant agrees to and does hereby assume any and all risks of personal injuries to Participant, including death, and damages to Participant's property, caused by or arising out of Participant's involvement in the Event.  Participant hereby agrees to defend, indemnify and hold AirFest harmless from and against any claim, demand, suit, loss, causes of action, damages, liabilities, obligations, costs, expenses, and judgments (including without limitation, death, and damages to property) caused by Participant's acts or omissions and arising out of Participant's involvement in the Event.

THE PARTICIPANT (AND PARENT/GUARDIAN, IF APPLICABLE) HAS READ AND UNDERSTANDS THE FOREGOING RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AND HAS SIGNED IT VOLUNTARILY.
