"Free parking, decent destinations, and an increasing number of flights make RFD a very viable option for us."

Airport Projects

Over the past several years. RFD has invested over $183 million dollars in various projects to enhance the airport's facilities. A majority of dollars spent on these projects were funded through local, state, and federal grants. The completion of these projects has allowed us to position ourselves to accomodate the tremendous growth in passenger and cargo services at our airport.

Our organization is unique in the fact that although we have aggressively completed and invested in many recent capital improvement projects over the past several years - at the same time - we have aggressively paid down our debt. On January 1, 2007 the airport paid off bonds which resulted in a 62% property tax savings for taxpayers.
