Utilizing Foreign-Trade Zone #176

All cargo entering the country from foreign soil is subject to inspection and clearance by U.S. customs, as well as payment of duty. One major exception to this is a Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ). A Foreign-Trade Zone is a specially-designated area, in or adjacent to a U.S. Customs Port Of Entry, which is considered to be outside the Customs Territory of the U.S.
