Security Screening
The security screening checkpoint is located on the second level on the west concourse. At peak travel times, passengers may experience delays at security checkpoints due to enhanced screening procedures. Only ticketed passengers with boarding passes are allowed beyond these checkpoints. Additionally, passengers are allowed to carry paper or foam polystyrene cups through walk-through metal detectors.

Liquid Ban
Effective Tuesday, September 26, TSA Is Adjusting The Ban On Liquids, Aerosols And Gels. There are two major changes:
- Travelers may now carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
- After clearing security, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board aircraft.
At the checkpoint travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bag of liquids and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.
Don’t let a prohibited item ruin your trip. You are permitted to travel with most items, but you must put them in your luggage and check them with your airline. Certain items are prohibited from carry-on luggage for the overall security of air travelers. Prohibited items obviously include weapons, explosives, and incendiaries, but also items that are seemingly harmless and may be used as weapons like hammers, bats, or mace. You may not bring these items to security checkpoints.
Bringing a prohibited item to a security checkpoint - even accidentally - is illegal.
Before you fly, read the list of other prohibited items, and remember, most items can be placed in your checked-baggage without a problem.
Prohibited Items
Any item that might be construed as a weapon (such as scissors, knife, small pocketknife, razor blade, needle, etc.) is prohibited beyond passenger screening checkpoints. Individuals who attempt to carry such items through security may be prosecuted for a misdemeanor offense, punishable by imprisonment of not more than one year, or a fine of not more than $1,000, or both.
Lighters Allowed
On July 20, 2007 The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issued a media release indicating that Lighters are no longer on the list of items prohibited beyond Airport checkpoints. Click Here to view the media release.
Do not attempt to carry on or check wrapped gifts. Wait to wrap gifts until you reach your destination, as these will likely need to be opened for inspection.
To minimize delays, pack wisely and visit the Transportation Safety Administration web site at www.tsatraveltips.us for further details about safety tips and prohibited items.
